The purpose of this project was to design elements for an exhibition about the history and use of food utensils at the Museum of Design in Atlanta. I was able to identify some pain points related to the current and previous exhibitions at MODA and tried to turn them into something more engaging. I decided to keep the design simple and clean so the utensils could stand out as the protagonists.
Another way of engaging visitors is by creating interactive experiences. In this case, I wanted to show an example of a question that people can try to guess before the exhibition, and see how it compares to other's responses.
Museum exhibitions typically give visitors a brochure with information. But a lot of them end up being tossed away. For that reason I tried to make this brochure a bit more unique and serve a few purposes. It provides information about the exhibition and how to navigate the space, and it also includes a collectible book mark that can be separated from the panel.
From my research and own observations, I know that a lot of people don't like having to read too much in museum exhibitions. I designed a banner with information about different types of forks by organizing them by year and purpose, accompanied by other information.
